Federal Communications Commission member Mignon Clyburn took time to responded to Verizon Wireless' lengthy response to government questions about its recent change to $350 early termination fee for "advanced devices" last week. Clyburn said Verizon's response to the questions were "unsatisfying and, in some cases, troubling."

Yesterday the FCC issued a four page letter to Verizons vice president of legal and external affairs in regard to their planned $350 ETF fees for certain devices under contract. This new fee is to be used for higher end devices, such as the DROID and BlackBerry devices. The $350 ETF, if put into effect, is nearly double that of the one that is used right now.
The FCC has questioned Verizon on various levels regarding this new fee: how will customers be notified? how is the prorate figured for customers who are already well into their contracts? what exactly constitutes and advanced device?

Clear Channel announced earlier today that with help from Verizon, they will be releasing a one-of-a-kind BlackBerry iHeartRadio app. The new iHeartRadio will ONLY be for BlackBerry's running on Verizon's network. Clear Channel worked with Verizon to incorporate V Cast into the app, which will allow users to purchase full tracks, ringtones, and ringbacks. Users will also be able to watch music videos and have access to other V Cast content.
Clear Channel says the iheartradio app has more than 400 radio stations today and to date, the iHeartRadio app has been downloaded over 4 million times.

AT&T got some bad news from Consumer Reports this week, as the magazine's latest survey shows that the carrier now has the lowest level of customer satisfaction in the U.S.

Thats right Verizon has finally announced the existance and future release of the Blackberry Curve 8530. Branded like the Storm 9550 the Curve 8530 has been named the Curve 2 by Verizon and is sibling to the GSM Curve 8520. Like the next gen Storm, the Curve 2 will be the 2nd CDMA Berry to have WiFi built in. Like the 8520 the 8530 will also feature the Optical Tracpad, the replacement for the sometimes problematic Tracball.
Coming in at a cool $99 after $100 mail in rebate the Cuve 2 looks to be an awesome successor to the very popular Blackberry Cuve 8330!
