To 'droid or not to 'droid, that is the question?
My awesome VZW business account rep was nice enough to swap out my 9530 for a 9550 no charge. The new device should arrive sometime Thursday. I am very eager to get it up an running so I can test out the 'new click'. I am a very fast BB typist and have even been lightning fast on my S1 with these latest OS versions, but I hope to have greater speed and less hand fatigue on the S2. Not to mention getting wifi back. People that say wifi doesn't matter are crazy.
But with that said... I have been extremely fascinated the past couple weeks about the droid craze. For years now I have had my RIM blinders on (other than buying 3 iPhones lol) and have just not paid attention to android up to that point. Now that all the devices are in the pipeline and photos and specs are leaking, I must say I am very eager to try one out. I even have a 'spare' line with VZW set aside as a wild card that I can use to grab a droid if I decide to. I'm a little apprehensive though because every WinMo device I've tried has been a piece of junk. Hopefully the droid OS is something much more... something more like/better than the iPhone.
As far as devices, I'm studying up on the different droid OS versions, different processors, etc. that are being used on the upcoming devices hoping to make a smart decision. Only problem is I will not get a slide out keyboard and I also will not get a square, blocky looking phone (like the iPhone), which means I'm pretty much stuck waiting on one of the more ergonomically correct models (HTC Desire, etc.). I'm also very interested in the amoled displays I've read about but again, need to do more homework.
With the awesome Storm 2 as my primary device I'm hoping to weed through all the craziness and pick out the uber-droid device that smokes the iPhone and blows away my Berry. If that happens, maybe the Berry will take the back seat but I'm not holding my breath...

To not droid my friend :)
